Hello, Just introducing myself a little
My icon is of Boris my new Great Dane pup. So far with clicker training he knows sit/down/stand but he hates down and sometimes refuses to, especially if the floor is cold :( Do I just keep working on it?
My kitten has caught on to clicker training quickly, but will only work as long as he is hungry... *sigh*

Date: 2009-05-19 08:30 pm (UTC)Keep on working his downs. I would up you reward when asking him to do it on col hard floors so he has a reason to listen even though he would rather not. Give extra treats when he listens immediately and is fast. Work on speed on carpeted and soft surfaces as well so he knows you like fast responses better. On those easier surfaces you can give only half a treat for slower downs or even stop clicking and treats super slow responses all together (depending on ho long he's been working on this).
